Improving student wellbeing

Thursday 10 July
3.00 - 4.00pm (SAST)

COVID-19 served to bring attention to the declining mental health amongst university students. A 2023 study of 28,516 students across 17 South African universities found that:

  • 71.3% of students reporting a mental health

  • 53.6% of students reporting an anxiety of some form

  • 33% of students reporting a severe mental health problem

And the effects are still being seen to this day.

In this 60-minute webinar we will:

  • Review the mental health situation on South Africa's campuses

  • Provide 3 simple strategies and practices that can be implemented in any bursary programme to help improve mental health and wellbeing and in doing so raise academic performance
